As you might recall, a number of renovation projects got started at the firehouse in late 2010. First up was the demolition of some interior office walls in the engine bay area to
accommodate the new turn out gear washer and dryer and to prepare space for the new tanker. The facelift to the upstairs office and training room got started in 2011 with new ceiling tiles and the painting of the wood paneling walls.
With the holidays and the annual Fair behind us, the next phase of the project got underway this week with new linoleum flooring being placed in the entire upstairs. The flooring will be completed this week. |

The new flooring project at the firehouse got wrapped up this week. Members are working to get the area cleaned up and the office put back together. Only a few finishing touches remain including new baseboard trim, new electrical outlets and a few new lighting fixtures.
Absolutely no upgrades had been done to the upstairs since the firehouse was built in 1975 and the wear and tear from 35 years of use was definitely showing. The fresh look is a welcome sight and we are very happy with how the project has turned out so far. |
