| Originally known as "Brush 44", this unit was later redesignated as "Brush 4" as part of a county-wide apparatus numbering system. Brush 4 was a used army vehicle that was acquired by the department, refurbished in-house by department members, and placed into service in 1977 as the department's first brush unit. As a result of ongiong mechanical problems and difficulty finding parts, this unit was retired in 1996 after 19 years of service and was replaced by the 1985 Chevrolet that currently serves as Brush 4. |
